12 week update

How far along? 12 weeks today.
How big is baby? 2.5 inches, 0.5 oz, size of a large plum
Total weight gain/loss? +1 lb
Maternity clothes? Not yet, I just ordered two pairs of jeans and a pair of leggings to try. My pants are definitely starting to become uncomfortable and I don’t want to teach small children with my pants unbuttoned!
Sleep? I usually go to bed around 9, but lately I’ve been waking up around 1 or 2 and staying up until my alarm goes off around 5:30. Not the most restful sleep but I’m functioning.
Best moment this week? My husband talking to baby more and more. We’re finally allowing ourselves to enjoy this experience and put our fear and anxiety aside.
Symptoms? Stretching/pulling sensations in my abdomen. Very tired. Heartburn like my chest is going to catch on fire, so I’ve been modifying my diet to eliminate acids. Morning sickness is finally starting to wear off. I was throwing up almost every morning but I went this whole week without getting sick! And I’m pretty sure I’m one of very few women who throw up with a smile at 5AM… I love knowing that everything is normal!
Food cravings? Fruit, mostly apples and applesauce. Juice. And CARBS!
Food aversions? TOMATOES! I usually love tomatoes or tomato sauces, but lately just the thought makes me gag.
Gender? We’re not going to find out the gender!
Labor signs? Way too early.
Belly button in or out? Innie
What I miss? Sushi. I had a serious craving for a spicy tuna roll last week. But honestly, I’m loving every minute.
What I’m looking forward to? My doctor’s appointment next week and hearing baby’s heartbeat.
Milestones? Almost out of the first trimester! We’re starting to tell people outside of our immediate family. We plan on going completely public by Thanksgiving.
Bump? Not yet… I’m pretty sure I ask my husband almost every morning if my stomach looks bigger. He feels like it’s a trick question because over the years he’s learned to never say I look bigger! Now I get upset if he says I look the same. Because I look down and think I definitely put on a few pounds!
