Game plan

I went back into my RE’s office yesterday to follow up with my blood work and ultrasound results from a few weeks ago. After I talked to a nurse who said everything looked good, I just wanted to ask, “so what now?”

My doctor went over my entire file again and still placed us in the “unexplained infertility” category. It’s nice to know there is no apparent problem, but it’s unnerving that we still don’t understand why I had a miscarriage almost 2 years ago and haven’t been able to conceive since then.

So my doctor recommended starting clomid and possibly doing an IUI since my husband’s work schedule makes timed intercourse almost impossible. We’re going to try our best this month and see what happens. We’re hoping to try clomid for at least 2 months to give ourselves time to save up for an IUI. (What’s the point of having health insurance if it doesn’t cover your health problems!!! But that’s for another post.)

I also asked my doctor if there was anything else I could do to boost our chances. She said to just continue living a healthy lifestyle and take a prenatal vitamin. So pretty much what we’ve been doing all along.

Are there are products or tips you recommend? I’m thinking about ordering pre-seed and maybe evening primrose oil or raspberry leaf tea. I also need different ovulation tests – any tried and tested brands you love? I’ve been using the cheapies from Amazon and I’ve never been able to get a positive reading!

Thanks for your tips and tricks! Hopefully February will be a good month.
